According to today's (12/6/03) Australian Financial Review, 'US TV assembler Five Rivers Electronic Innovations and two labour unions have lodged an anti-dumping claim against China, the world's largest producer of colour TV sets.' (This is premium content, but if you subscribe or want to pay $2.20, go to 'China TV sets new anti-dumping battleground').
Read on and what do you find? This paragraph:
"China exported 19.2 million TV sets worth $US2.18 billion ($3.32 billion) last year, up 62.7 per cent from 2001. Its TV makers have come to rely on exports for profit growth as rampant overcapacity at home has resulted in a decade-long price war. Now exports account for 35 per cent of colour TVs made in China. It exported 4.45 million TVs to the US last year, compared with 920,000 in 2001"
