G8 adere ao "Unilateralismo"

O comunicado final da cimeira do G8 deixa um importante aviso aos estados párias. Parece que, finalmente, os restantes países começam a dar razão aos EUA. Os principais visados são o Irão e a Coreia do Norte:

"The G-8 communiqué took pains to mention the "range of tools" (treaties, diplomacy, inspections) available to apply pressure on the rogue nations. U.S. officials, meanwhile, pointed to the words "if necessary other measures" in the text, implying (they said) support for the use of force if diplomacy fails. Told of this view, French President Chirac was quick to the barricades: "This interpretation seems to be extraordinarily daring." (Maybe he's beginning to understand Mr. Bush.)"
