Mário Soares defende diálogo com Al-Qaeda em vez do uso da força
O ex-Presidente da República e eurodeputado socialista Mário Soares defendeu hoje o diálogo com a organização Al-Qaeda, em alternativa ao uso da força, para perceber os objectivos da rede liderada por Osama bin Laden e combater o terrorismo.

Interpelado pela plateia da Fundação Mário Soares sobre se, seguindo esse raciocínio, também defendia o diálogo com o ex-ditador alemão Adolf Hitler, na II Guerra Mundial, o ex-Presidente e ex-primeiro-ministro disse que, "se fosse necessário falar com Hitler para evitar um ano de guerra, valia a pena"
Before giving a verdict upon this arrangement, we should do well to avoid describing it as a personal or a national triumph for anyone.
