About the Globalization Institute
The Globalization Institute is an educational research and policy institute. The mission of the Institute is to explain the role and effects of globalization, including the creation of wealth and economic growth, the promotion of peace and the alleviation of world poverty.

To some, globalization seems like an unstoppable force. History suggests otherwise. Even in recent years, the cause of globalization has suffered many setbacks, such as the breakdown of the Doha round of trade negotiations in Cancun. Tariffs, quotas and protectionism are still common. To sceptics of globalization, it is a malign force imposed by international institutions and multinational corporations, threatening livelihoods, individual autonomy and cultural diversity.

How to describe the Globalization Institute
Our philosophical background is the 19th century liberal perspective. We are a 'free trade think tank' or a 'liberal think tank'. Indeed, with the name Globalization Institute, we are "exactly what it says on the tin".

"A society that does not recognize that each individual has values of his own which he is entitled to follow can have no respect for the dignity of the individual and cannot really know freedom."
