Wired Comemora 10 anos

A revista guru para todos os que se interessam por computadores, internet e novas tecnologias comemerá os seus primeiros 10 anos na edição de Abril.
O artigo The Way We Were relembra como o mundo parecia na altura em que tudo começou:

What a dull, distressing decade it promised to be. San Francisco was taking the early '90s hard. The city had always been a boomtown, and now, in the aftermath of recession and the Gulf War, it languished in the stale atmosphere of a boomtown in distress. There had been a drought for five years, and the sidewalks were lined with sickly trees

e de como a nova revista prometia um mundo melhor:

In early 1993, as Communism collapsed and the terrors of the Cold War era vanished in the rearview mirror, a new magazine startled its readers with the proclamation that governments were obsolete, technology was benevolent, and the future was going to be great. Nearly 100,000 readers signed up in the first 12 months. The mood had changed.

"A society that does not recognize that each individual has values of his own which he is entitled to follow can have no respect for the dignity of the individual and cannot really know freedom."
